Working with Trauma

As a psychologist I work all of the time with #trauma. Even if people come to me with difficulties with depression, relationship problems or #anxiety, often it becomes clear that traumatic experiences underlie these issues. I work with trauma in a number of ways. I am really passionate about ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which is derived from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy( and is a values based therapy that focuses upon moving towards a life full of vitality, based on values based goals, and also incorporates mindfulness approaches. I am also an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) therapist. EMDR has a strong evidence based, and has been found to work more quickly than other therapies.
