Frequently Asked Questions

As an experienced qualified clinical psychologist I can work with adults on a range of issues. My background is in the NHS, working with adults with autism and/or learning disabilities.

-Therapeutically I have been trained in  EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing, a gold standard treatment for trauma) therapist, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)

-Assessments I am able to offer include autism, ADHD, and learning disability assessments (Assessment of IQ and Adaptive Functioning).

What are your fees?

Therapy sessions are £90 per hour. An autism assessment is £1200, and an ADHD assessment is £1000. The cost of both is £1800. I am able to offer an initial screening appointment of up to 90 minutes which is £250. This can enable me to determine if there are sufficient indicators of autism, ADHD or both to go ahead with a full diagnostic assessment. If there is, a plan for this will be developed and the cost of the initial screening will be deducted. I am also able to offer a payment plan of four payment instalments.

Do you offer online assessments?

Usually, yes.

Can you prescribe?

No, as a clinical psychologist I am unable to prescribe. If you are seeking an ADHD assessment for this purpose you are advised to speak to your GP/local NHS trust first, to establish if they will accept a private ADHD assessment.

Are your assessments accepted by the NHS?

There should be no issue with NHS services accepting a private adult autism assessment carried out by an appropriately qualified and highly experienced consultant clinical psychologist using gold standard assessment tools. This is not something I have encountered in many years of conducting autism assessments. As stated on the ADHD assessment page, there are currently sometimes challenges with private ADHD assessments being accepted by GPs for prescribing purposes, and so it can be prudent to check with them first.
